Frequently asked questions
How does the Free tier work? +
The Free tier is a real free product, not a time-limited evaluation. You get 5 prompts monitored on 1 AI platform of your choice — ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, or Copilot — with 4 monitoring batches included. Includes the basic dashboard and Google Search Console integration. No credit card. No countdown clock. Upgrade to Watch ($19/mo), Pro + Diagnose ($99/mo), or any other paid tier whenever you want more prompts, more platforms, or the diagnose-and-verify loop. Downgrade back to Free anytime.
Is there a trial of the paid tiers? +
No. We don't run time-limited trials of paid tiers because the Free tier already gives you a real working workspace — same product, lower caps. If you need more prompts, more platforms, or the diagnose-and-verify workflow, upgrade. If you upgrade and it's not the right fit, downgrade or cancel — no questions, prorated refund on the monthly charge.
What happens if I exceed my AI credits? +
You keep working. Overage is billed at $5 per 1,000 credits on your next invoice. No hard cutoff.
Can I start with Track and add Diagnose later? +
Yes. Diagnose is an add-on. Add it to any Pro, Business, or Scale plan at any time.
What's the difference between Track and Diagnose? +
Track monitors whether you're cited, mentioned, or invisible. Diagnose tells you why: with page-level gap analysis, fix-type classification, structured briefs, verification runs, and an AI assistant.
How does Rankwize compare to Surfer SEO and Frase? +
Surfer and Frase are SEO content platforms that have added AI Visibility tracking. Rankwize was built ground-up for AI visibility and goes deeper on the diagnosis side: per-prompt fix-type classification, multi-recommendation engine, automated prompt discovery, and content briefs grounded in citation data — none of which Surfer or Frase ship today. The AI editor in every plan is the only one conditioned on what AI engines actually cite for your tracked prompts, not generic SEO patterns.
On AI-article volume, Surfer and Frase publish higher inclusive counts (e.g., Surfer Standard at $99 includes "create or optimize 360 documents"; Frase Starter at $49 includes 10 AI-optimized articles). Rankwize Pro+D at $99 includes ~45 AI-engine-grounded drafts plus unlimited overage at ~$0.28/draft. Choose by what you're optimizing for: raw article volume tied to Google SEO patterns (Surfer / Frase), or AI-engine citation visibility paired with grounded drafts (Rankwize).
What AI platforms do you monitor? +
ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Bing Copilot.
Do you offer annual billing? +
Yes. Save approximately 20% with annual billing.
Do you offer an agency plan? +
Not as a separate SKU today. The Business + Diagnose and Scale + Diagnose plans cover most agency use cases — 5 to 15 domains, 10 to 25 seats, full Diagnose with briefs and verification across all platforms. If you need pitch workspaces, white-labeling, or client-facing reporting, contact us — we're scoping an agency-specific SKU and an agency partner program for the back half of 2026.
Do you support Claude or Gemini as tracked platforms? +
Claude is available as a $25–$150/mo add-on (tier-scaled) on Pro+D and above — see the Add-ons section for pricing. Gemini standalone is coming Q3 2026. We currently track Google AI Mode (which is Gemini-powered) and Copilot as part of the five core platforms.
Why three meters — tracked prompts, prompts diagnosed, and AI credits? +
Each meter measures a different kind of work. Tracked prompts is what you monitor weekly across the platforms in your project. Prompts diagnosed is what gets the deeper page-level analysis with the 7 fix-type taxonomy. AI credits power Wize, AI Drafter, Section Improve, and Boost Score — LLM token consumption (1 credit equals 100 tokens), priced separately because it scales with how much you write, not how much you monitor. Splitting them keeps the math honest: you pay for what you actually do.
How does Rankwize compare to Peec or Promptwatch? +
All three monitor AI search citations and all three now ship daily tracking starting at $95–$99/mo. Rankwize is the only one with page-level diagnosis classified into one of seven specific fix types, plus 14-day verification runs that re-check the same prompts after you ship the fix. Peec ships unlimited users, a dedicated agency SKU, and broader engine coverage at the top tier; Promptwatch ships more engines and a Content Agent for generation. Rankwize ships the loop — diagnose to brief to verify — that the others don't.
How often do you check my prompts on AI platforms? +
Daily on Pro+D, Business, Business+D, Scale, and Scale+D. Weekly on Free, Watch, and Pro Track. Daily means we re-check each monitored prompt on each enabled platform every 24 hours and update your dashboard. The full Diagnose pipeline (matcher, briefs, recommendations) runs only when something actually changes in your tracking data — not every cycle.
I see 3 platforms included on most tiers. What if I want more? +
Extra platforms are $25/mo each. Add Google AI Mode, Copilot/Bing, or Claude from your billing settings. Pro+D, Business, Business+D, and Scale+D can add up to 2 extra; Scale Track can add up to 4. Claude is tier-scaled ($25/mo at Pro+D, $75/mo at Business and Business+D, $150/mo at Scale and Scale+D). Gemini is coming Q3 2026.
Why do you only diagnose when something changes? +
Diagnose is expensive to run — it's the matcher, fix-type taxonomy, brief generation, and recommendation engine. Running it on a prompt that hasn't moved since last week is wasted work that we'd otherwise pass on as cost to you. We re-Diagnose when your citation state actually changes (you lost a citation, a competitor showed up, your ranking flipped) — and as a fallback, every 4 weeks regardless. You get the same depth of analysis, paid for only when it actually matters.
